Renaud family farmstead : “EARL Beaulieu”

On the farmstead, Renaud family (two brothers and their mother) produces crops and beef cattle.

The AUA is 203 ha : - 120 ha of peastures

                                  - 83 ha of different crops are grown, yields are in the average (winter wheat : 60-70 qtx/ha) : winter wheat, winter barley, oil seed rape, oat, sunflower, barley-oat mix)

Each year, they used approximately 8ha of barley-oat mix and 2ha of winter barley for the beef cattle feed. For the breeding, they buy also sugar beet pulps,  flax and minerals.

They breed 96 beef females’ cows (Charolais breed). The half of calves is composed of males and females. “Broutards” are grown fat and sold on the traditional market at 9-10 months old.

About the marketing, they have a good added value because they have concluded agreements to little or big supermarkets.

They are member of a gathering of farmers (“Charolais” bullock from Chartes region), represented by a registered trademark : “White of the black valley”. In fact, in certain supermarkets, they have exclusive rights for supply.
